Here, I’ll introduce you to Cora, one of the Celestine Mothers. A spirit-guide to Luna, her presence in this story is not represented visually, but in the narration only.
Luna is guided by an unseen ally, Cora – one of the Celestine Mothers. Ancient and ethereal, her voice of loving wisdom wafts warmly on the breeze, and echoes through stone and sky.
Symbolism:
Most of us have experienced what it can mean to know something in both your heart and your mind, so I love the name Cora for Luna’s spirit guide.
Look at the word Cor, Latin for “heart,” and the word Cortex (e.g. pre-frontal cortex) and you’ll see what I’m getting at. Even the words Concord and Discord, roughly mean “with harmony” and “without harmony.”
What better name for an ethereal spirit-guide whose primary message to Luna is one of cultivating balance and harmony?
This world was ground zero for a cataclysmic event – a corruption that untethered light and shadow. The mortals who once lived here … they poisoned the light, and everything the light touches.
Ancient beings like Cora fought to restore balance, but it was too late. With corruption spreading to other worlds, a controversial decision was made by her kind to isolate and abandon this world.
But Cora remained to watch and wait.
Intuition: Harmony of Instinct & Intellect
In order to restore health and balance to this corrupted world, Cora encourages Luna to strive not only to create external harmony but also to cultivate a harmony within.
